Job summary

NRG Energy is seeking a Financial Analyst, Performance Management to support financial forecasting, performance reporting, and business analytics for the NRG Business unit.

This role partners closely with Sales, Operations, FP&A, Business Strategy, and other cross-functional teams to translate financial and operational data into clear insights that support both day-to-day execution and strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or similar field.
• 2-4 years of relevant financial, analytical, or related experience.
• Experience with AI and AI tools.
• Strong Excel skillset; experience with Power BI or other analytics tools is a plus.
• Ability to synthesize large datasets into clear, concise insights.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Support P&L forecasting, performance reporting, and variance analysis.
• Analyze business drivers, trends, risks, and opportunities impacting EBITDA.
• Develop and maintain recurring reports, dashboards, and ad hoc analyses for leadership and sales teams.
• Track progress toward sales, margin, and operational targets.
• Partner cross-functionally to align financial results with operational activity.
• Assist with budgeting, reforecasting, and special projects, including M&A or integration-related analytics as needed.
• Help improve reporting processes, data quality, and analytical tools through continuous improvement efforts.
• Be able to develop new reporting models and enhance legacy models.
• Ad Hoc reporting, analysis, and other duties as assigned.
