Job summary

ENGIE North America is seeking an Applications Management Advisor in Houston to design and maintain ETL processes, optimize SQL data workflows, and support the ETRM data ecosystem. You will integrate data from SQL Server, Oracle, and external sources, implementing robust data quality and reporting solutions.

The role requires 7+ years of relevant experience, strong Python skills, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field
• 7+ years of relevant work experience
• Expert-level SQL Server experience including design, optimization, and SSIS
• Experience with SSRS or a comparable reporting platform
• Hands-on experience extracting data from Oracle databases
• Proficiency in Python for data engineering and API integration (Pandas/NumPy)
• Experience building data pipelines across multiple systems
• Knowledge of data warehousing, governance, and data quality practices
• Experience in energy or trading ETM environments
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain and troubleshoot ETL processes and SSIS packages
• Develop, optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions
• Integrate and validate data from SQL Server, Oracle, CSV, APIs, and external sources
• Implement error handling, logging, auditing, and data-quality controls
• Support ETRM platform data workflows including trade and risk data
• Create and maintain reports, dashboards, data mappings and documentation
• Collaborate with analysts, data engineers and stakeholders to translate needs
• Provide responsive production support and manage multiple priorities
