Position Summary: The Kenjya Trusant Group is seeking a highly organized and dependable Business Operations Coordinator - Accounting & HR to provide cross-functional support to Accounting, Human Resources, and general business operations. This is a newly created position designed to strengthen administrative and operational support across the company. The role is expected to be approximately evenly divided between Accounting and Human Resources, although priorities may shift periodically based on business needs.
The Business Operations Coordinator will work closely with the Assistant Controller and HR Director. On the Accounting side, the position will provide recurring accounts payable, bookkeeping, mail-processing, and administrative support. On the Human Resources side, the position will support employee administration and develop toward independently owning several recurring HR processes, particularly new-hire onboarding and orientation.
This position is ideal for someone with experience in both basic accounting/bookkeeping and HR or business administration who enjoys variety, takes ownership of responsibilities, works well with people, and is comfortable shifting between accounting tasks, employee support, meetings, administrative work, and general operational needs. Because this is a new cross-functional position, specific responsibilities may evolve over time based on business needs and the employee's skills and experience.
Essential Job Functions:
The successful Business Operations Coordinator will become a dependable resource to both Accounting and Human Resources - someone who understands recurring processes, maintains organized systems, monitors deadlines, follows up on outstanding items, and keeps administrative work moving without requiring continual direction.
Success in this role requires strong ownership and follow-through. The employee is expected to maintain responsibility for assigned work through completion, resolve routine issues independently when possible, and seek guidance when needed without transferring ownership of the task back to the manager. The employee understands that certain responsibilities, including payroll, accounting, onboarding, and other operational processes, are deadline-driven and require timely follow-through.
Over time, the employee should be able to independently manage assigned Accounting, HR, and operational processes while recognizing when a matter requires the involvement of the Assistant Controller, HR Director, or other leadership.
Pay Range :There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
