Job summary

Franklin Surgery Center is hiring a Business Office Scheduler and Verifier to coordinate patient scheduling across pediatrics to geriatrics and to ensure accurate pre-authorization and billing information. The Scheduling Coordinator will contact patients about financial responsibilities and verify insurance coverage at the time of scheduling.

The role requires strong telephone etiquette, basic computer and office equipment skills, and familiarity with medical terminology.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Healthcare facility business office experience preferred.
• Computer and office equipment skills required.
• Medical terminology knowledge required.

Responsibilities

• Schedule pediatric, adult and geriatric patients for the surgery center.
• Verify insurance coverage at scheduling and gather additional information if needed.
• Notify patients of their financial responsibility prior to the scheduled date.
• Review financial obligation and pre-qualify third party coverage.
• Coordinate with materials management for implants/equipment and ensure patient responsibility accuracy.
• Follows all policies and procedures.

Business Office Scheduler and Verifier at Franklin Surgery Center

The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for scheduling pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients for the surgery center as assigned. The Scheduling Coordinator must display excellent telephone etiquette as he/she manages calls of utmost importance to providing quality and continuity of individual patient care. Reports to work in acceptable business attire.

Verifies insurance coverage based on information provided by physician offices at the time of scheduling. Contacts patient to gather additional information, if needed, as well as to notify them of their financial responsibility prior to the scheduled date of service.

Reviews financial obligation with patient and authorized party following USPI's program or any other program established by the company. Pre-qualifies third party coverage of scheduled procedure(s). Actively coordinates with materials management regarding required implants, equipment and/or supplies needed for scheduled cases in order to calculate allowable and patient responsibility accurately.

Follows all policies and procedures.

Qualifications
