Job summary

Northeast Regional Surgery Center is seeking a Business Office Coordinator to assist the Administrator with daily business office operations and supervise Registration and Medical Records. The BOC will also manage the office in the Administrator's absence.

Responsibilities include enforcing office policies, supervising staff, coordinating hiring/orientation, and ensuring accounts receivable processes and managed care contracts run smoothly.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum five years supervisory experience in a medical setting such as a hospital, physician’s office, or surgery center preferred.
  • Experience working with physicians desirable.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology required.
  • Preference for accounts payable/receivable experience.

Responsibilities

  • Knows, adheres to, and enforces all policies of the business office.
  • Assist business office manager with supervising of business office employees and processes.
  • Responsible for the hiring, orientation, performance reviews and training of registration and medical records staff.
  • Responsible for thorough working knowledge of accounts receivable system including maintenance of the managed care contracts.
  • Reconciles the cash receipts to the deposit log.
  • Informs business office manager of day-to-day situations.
  • Supervise all medical records activities of the center in a manner consistent with the clinical needs of the center.
  • Follows all equipment safety guidelines and is personally responsible for knowledgeable use and care of equipment.
  • Assist business manager with overall strategic planning of the business office.
  • Assist the Business Office Manager to develop and maintain policies & procedures and systems to minimize DSO and the rate of bad debt and increase the productivity of related operations.
  • Perform other activities as requested by the business manager, and assume other appropriate operational responsibilities as necessary.

Business Office Coordinator at Northeast Regional Surgery Center

The Business Office Coordinator (BOC) assists the Administrator with the day to day operations of the business office. Pay Range:

$28.96/hr – $35.48/hr (Wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience.)
