Job Overview:
A prominent Northeast-based law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its Business Litigation team. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of complex commercial litigation matters, representing a diverse client base including corporations, governmental agencies, and nonprofit entities. The role is suited for a highly motivated litigator who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is committed to providing top-tier legal representation.

Location:
Stamford, CT

Duties:

1. Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and arbitration proceedings
2. Take and defend depositions
3. Conduct legal and factual research and collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategies
4. Draft memoranda, pleadings, discovery requests/responses, motions, and legal briefs
5. Analyze records and transactions involved in business disputes and identify potential claims
6. Handle matters across various commercial litigation practice areas
7. Work cross-functionally with attorneys in other departments to deliver integrated legal solutions
8. Maintain an annual billable hour requirement of 1,800 hours

Requirements:

1. 4–7 years of experience in litigation
2. Background in complex commercial litigation and/or bankruptcy preferred
3. Familiarity with Connecticut State and Federal court procedures
4. Previous federal or state judicial clerkship experience preferred
5. Proven ability to manage a varied caseload independently
6. Strong organizational and time management skills
7. Demonstrated commitment to high performance and accountability

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

1. Active license to practice law in the State of Connecticut (required)
2. Admission to the New York and/or Massachusetts bar (preferred)
