Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking a Business Litigation Associate to join its collaborative litigation team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex commercial matters, representing a diverse client base in both courtroom and alternative dispute resolution settings. The position is ideal for an attorney with strong research, writing, and litigation skills, and a commitment to professional excellence in a dynamic legal environment.

Location:

Duties:

1. Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and arbitrations
2. Take and defend depositions
3. Research factual and legal issues and strategize with senior attorneys
4. Draft memoranda, pleadings, discovery documents, motions, and briefs
5. Examine records and transactions underlying business disputes
6. Conduct investigations related to potential client claims
7. Work across commercial litigation practice areas as needed
8. Collaborate with attorneys in other departments to provide well-rounded client support
9. Meet a minimum of 1,800 billable hours annually

Requirements:

1. 4–7 years of litigation experience
2. Background in complex commercial litigation and/or bankruptcy preferred
3. Experience practicing in Connecticut State and Federal Courts
4. Federal or state judicial clerkship experience preferred
5. Ability to handle multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
6. Strong time management and organizational skills
7. Demonstrated high standards of professionalism and performance

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

1. Active license to practice law in Connecticut (required)
2. Admission to the New York and/or Massachusetts bar (preferred)
