Job Overview:
A well-regarded law firm is seeking a Senior Associate/Counsel for its New York office with at least six years of experience in business and real estate litigation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in creditor’s rights, loan workouts, CMBS issues, and judicial commercial foreclosures in both state and federal courts, including bankruptcy proceedings. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated attorney with strong analytical and writing skills to handle complex litigation matters, while also contributing to a collaborative and dynamic legal team.

Duties:

  1. Represent clients in business and real estate litigation, focusing on creditor’s rights, loan workouts, CMBS issues, and judicial commercial foreclosures.
  2. Handle matters in New York state, federal, and bankruptcy courts.
  3. Provide strategic advice to clients on creditor enforcement and related legal issues.
  4. Work both independently and as part of a team on complex litigation matters.
  5. Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs, with strong attention to detail.
  6. Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and courts.
  7. Participate in trial preparation and provide support during trials, hearings, and depositions.

Requirements:

  1. At least six years of business or real estate litigation experience.
  2. Expertise in creditor’s rights, loan workouts, CMBS issues, and judicial commercial foreclosures.
  3. Strong academic credentials and demonstrated writing and analytical skills.
  4. Admission to the New York Bar (mandatory).
  5. Clerkship experience is preferred.
  6. Admission to the New Jersey Bar and familiarity with New Jersey courts is a plus.
  7. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  8. Strong team player with the ability to work independently on complex client matters.

Education:

J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

Admission to the New York Bar.

Admission to the New Jersey Bar (preferred but not required).
