Job Overview:
A prominent law firm with a strong Northeast presence is seeking a skilled Associate Attorney to join its Business Litigation team. This hybrid opportunity offers the chance to engage in a wide variety of complex commercial litigation matters, working closely with a collaborative legal team and diverse clientele. The role is best suited for a mid-level litigator who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and is committed to excellence in legal advocacy.

Location:
Hartford, CT

Duties:

1. Represent clients in courtroom proceedings, mediations, and arbitrations
2. Take and defend depositions
3. Conduct factual and legal research and strategize with senior attorneys
4. Draft memoranda, pleadings, discovery demands/responses, motions, and briefs
5. Analyze records and transactions related to business disputes and investigate potential client claims
6. Work across a range of commercial litigation areas
7. Collaborate with attorneys in other departments to provide comprehensive legal solutions
8. Maintain a minimum of 1,800 billable hours annually

Requirements:

1. 4–7 years of litigation experience
2. Experience with complex commercial litigation and/or bankruptcy preferred
3. Familiarity with Connecticut State and Federal Court procedures
4. Strong legal research and writing ability
5. Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
6. Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail
7. Effective oral and written communication skills
8. A team player with a professional, positive, and flexible attitude
9. Ability to adapt quickly to new information and challenges
10. Prior judicial clerkship experience preferred

Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

1. Active license to practice law in the State of Connecticut (required)
2. Admission to the New York and/or Massachusetts bar (preferred)
