Job summary

WakeMed Health & Hospitals in Raleigh is seeking a skilled Business Intelligence Analyst II to design, develop, and maintain data analytics and BI solutions that support operational, clinical, and strategic decisions.

You’ll collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and clinical leaders to translate complex data into actionable insights, mentor junior analysts, and drive innovation, scalability, and performance across our analytics environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Nursing, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in BI, SQL, and Epic Clarity.
• Epic certification in applicable area.
• Experience with Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or QlikView preferred.
• Experience in Health Catalyst or acute care environments valued.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain BI analytics solutions across operations and clinical areas.
• Build dashboards and reports with Tableau, Power BI, Looker, and QlikView.
• Implement data models and processing workflows focused on reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate questions into reporting solutions.
• Mentor junior analysts and promote analytics best practices.

We are hiring a Business Intelligence Analyst II to design, develop, and maintain data analytics and business intelligence solutions that support strategic decision-making across the organization. In this role, you'll partner with data scientists, analysts, operational leaders, and clinical stakeholders to transform complex data into actionable insights. You'll also serve as a mentor to junior analysts while helping drive innovation, scalability, and performance across our analytics environment.

What you’ll do

• Design, develop, and maintain business intelligence and analytics solutions that support operational, clinical, and strategic initiatives.
• Build and enhance dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, and QlikView to communicate meaningful insights and key performance metrics.
• Implement and optimize data models, data processing workflows, and analytical frameworks with a focus on reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define data needs, and translate business questions into actionable reporting and analytics solutions.
• Mentor junior analysts and promote analytics best practices, continuous improvement, and innovation across the team.

Who you are

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Nursing, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Business Intelligence, SQL development, and Epic Clarity Data Model environments.
• Epic certification in the applicable area of responsibility.
• Experience developing dashboards and visualizations using BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or QlikView is preferred.
• Additional experience in systems analysis, Health Catalyst Subject Area Mart, nursing, or acute care environments is highly valued.
