Job summary

Fragomen in San Francisco seeks an attorney to develop an expert-level understanding of the client base, industries, and the firm’s practice areas. You will craft case strategies, conduct research, draft, review, and counsel clients while triaging initiations and resolving escalations.

You will regularly communicate with clients and foreign nationals on procedural matters, manage immigration program compliance, assess visa eligibility, and draft related petitions.

• Ability to proofread documents and draft fluent prose without AI.

Responsibilities

• Develop an expert-level understanding of the client base, supported industries, and the firm’s practice areas and services.
• Develop case strategies, including research, drafting, review, client counseling, and triaging initiations, while also identifying and resolving escalations.
• Regularly communicate with clients and foreign nationals regarding procedural matters, case processing issues, and case strategy.
• Support clients in immigration program management and compliance.
• Assess eligibility of corporate foreign national employees for non-immigrant and immigrant visa status and prepare related petitions/applications for government agencies, working with client global mobility personnel.
• Draft legal documents and letters, typically based on established precedents, and conduct research for client requests and projects.
• Supervise and mentor junior Associates and other staff, proactively sharing immigration knowledge and expertise.
• Candidates must possess an expanded practical understanding of immigration law.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, including the ability to proofread documents, draft fluent prose, and avoid grammatical mistakes without the aid of AI engines.
