Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience providing financial, budgetary, and administrative support within a government environment.
• Knowledge of government budgeting and contracting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to multitask.

Valiant Harbor International is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Business Financial Manager to support the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H). ARPA-H is focused on accelerating better health outcomes by supporting the development of high-impact solutions to society’s most challenging health problems.

This is a full-time, hybrid position that requires candidates to be located within reasonable proximity of Washington, DC to support the ARPA-H mission on site as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive programmatic, financial, and administrative support to ARPA-H R&D programs
• Perform financial tracking and analysis, including budget preparation and administration
• Support solicitation preparation and management
• Track deliverables, milestones, schedules, and calendars
• Develop, organize, forecast, and maintain financial budgets
• Create and coordinate budget and acquisition funding documents
• Facilitate meetings and support related administrative activities

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
• Demonstrated experience providing financial, budgetary, and administrative support within a government environment.
• Experience developing, organizing, forecasting, and maintaining budgets and tracking technical and financial milestones
• Knowledge of government budgeting and government contracting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word required)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in dynamic environments
• Ability to operate effectively in team-based, fast-paced environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience serving as a Business Financial Manager (BFM) or in a comparable financial management role within a government, research, or innovation-focused organization. ARPA-H or DARPA experience is highly desirable
• Experience planning, organizing, and facilitating meetings, workshops, and other stakeholder engagements.
• Professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), or equivalent

Clearance Requirements: Ability to obtain a Public Trust.

Salary Range: Negotiable.
