We are looking for an ambitious and energetic Business Development representative on the East Coast and West Coast to help us expand our clientele. You will be customer-facing and will have the dedication to create and apply an effective sales strategy. The goal is to drive sustainable financial growth through boosting sales and forging strong relationships with clients.
The ideal candidate will have a background in business development working with utilities, renewable energy EPCs, owners and developers, independent power producers, Oil & gas midstream market players, and datacenter EPCs.
- Develop a strong sales pipeline based on medium to large B2B accounts in the relative markets where MV and power transformers are used.
- Identify new business opportunities
- Study the market and understand the drivers, geographies, price levels
- Understand the technology and developments in MV and Power transformers
- Analyze the competitors and their business values, differentiation and market approach
- Prepare, coordinate internally and follow up until successful finalize qualification process for new clients
- Manage client relationship through all phases of the sales cycle
- Manage sales meetings and both physical and online presentations
- Provide timely response to RFQ and create proposals
- Conduct contract negotiations; develop and negotiate sale contracts with customers
- Provide marketing support, language translation, advertisement ideas, promotions
- Responsible for tracking customer information, forecasts and reports
- Develop and maintain prospects and customer list based on strategic data and other sources for sales leads
- Manage and maintain opportunities in CRM system
- Attend webinars, exhibitions, conferences.
Business Development Qualification/Requirements:
- Degree (Bachelor or Master) in a technical discipline, ideally Electrical or Mechanical engineering plus further qualification in business administration.
- Minimum 3 years of prior technical sales or marketing experience within a similar product portfolio is essential (switchgear, transformers, energy solutions).
- Proficient understanding of electrical specifications for electrical equipment a must. (This will be thoroughly tested in the interview process)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and reports
- Ability to perform work independently and reliably according to work schedules and assignments
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, customer-focused mindset. Ability to establish and manage long-term customer relationships. Excellent planning and organization skills
- Must be self-directed and resourceful, detail oriented and able to manage multiple priorities
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Business fluency in English is required. Proficiency in additional languages such as Spanish, Italian, German or Polish will be considered an advantage.
- Available to work across multiple time zones.
