Job description

Overview

Who We Are.

DCG is an award-winning, full-service engagement, digital, research, and data company with over 15 years of experience supporting the military, Veterans, and the American public. DCG strategically researches, plans, executes, and evaluates large-scale, multi-platform outreach initiatives across a wide range of mission-driven issues including human trafficking awareness, mental health stigma reduction, suicide prevention, ending homelessness, Veteran health, transportation safety, small business resources, and public diplomacy. Our research and digital teams employ mixed methods research, Human-Centered Design (HCD), and change management principles to integrate new technologies built around well-researched user journeys.

Position Overview

DCG is seeking a motivated Business Development Analyst to join our growing organization. In this role, you will support the Growth team’s strategic business development initiatives, proposal development activities, team communications, and other critical elements that position DCG as a reliable partner to federal customers. This is a dynamic role that requires coordination with multiple levels of the organization and could include surges of support to proposal efforts, including occasional late night and/or weekend work to meet deadlines.

Location

Fully Remote; the selected candidate will work during DCG’s core Eastern Standard Time business hours. Candidates located within the National Capital Region will be given preference due to the possibility for ad-hoc in-person support.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct research on industry trends, competitors, potential clients, and new markets, and compile findings into clear, actionable reports and briefings.
  • Monitor news, federal procurement forecasts, and policy changes relevant to target markets.
  • Track and update opportunities throughout the business development lifecycle leveraging DCG’s CRM.
  • Leverage AI technologies and best practices to streamline business development processes and create efficiencies.
  • Assist in pursuit qualification activities, including gathering client intel and assessing fit.
  • Work with Capture Managers, Proposal Managers, and SMEs to prepare briefing materials for leadership, including gate reviews and pursuit packages.
  • Support the coordination of meetings, call notes, follow-ups, and next steps.
  • Support proposal planning including responses to RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, and related content.
  • Assist in preparing proposal materials such as resumes, past performance writeups, formatting, and coordinating internal reviews, deadlines, and submission processes.
  • Contribute writing for non-technical sections under guidance from senior team members.
  • Support the proposal development process (analyzing requirements, establishing a schedule, kick-off meetings and color team reviews, developing a compliance matrix, template generation, final review and submission).
  • Ensure consistency with DCG’s brand message, style standards, value proposition, and business objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned to support proposal production against established deadlines.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 2+ years of experience in business development, consulting, communications, proposal support or a related domain
  • Knowledge of or direct experience with federal government contracting
  • Familiarity with proposal development best practices, such as Shipley training or APMP (course completions or certifications preferred)
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams) skills, including using and maintaining Word templates
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat and PDF development/editing
  • Ability to work independently, adjust to shifting priorities, and turn around projects on short timelines
  • Excellent organization, communication, and project planning skills, with sharp attention to detail, accuracy and quality on time-sensitive projects
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, effectively managing time and prioritizing workload
  • Driven, enthusiastic team player confident in taking initiative and thinking creatively
  • Thrives in cross-functional, matrixed, and multi-disciplinary team structures

  • Wellness programs and pre-tax Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
