Qualifications

  • Willingness to travel throughout North America; valid driver’s license.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; CRM experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Present flooring underlayment and gym flooring solutions to architects, engineers, designers, contractors, distributors, and OEM customers.
  • Develop product specifications and track projects from initial design through bidding and product purchase.
  • Identify and build relationships with flooring contractors, commercial installers, and distributors.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of distribution partners.
  • Identify OEM opportunities and coordinate product evaluations, sampling, and qualification activities.

Description: Business Development Specialist - Flooring Solutions

Territory: North America

Reports To: Divisional Sales Manager

Position Level: Junior-Level Business Development

Travel: 50-60%, with additional travel for special customer events and trade shows

Position Overview

Hira Industries and Aerofoam USA are seeking a motivated Business Development Specialist to support the North American launch and growth of our flooring underlayment and gym flooring solutions.

This junior-level position provides an excellent opportunity to build experience in business development, technical sales, and market development.

Working closely with the Divisional Sales Manager, this individual will introduce our products to architects, engineers, contractors, distributors, and OEMs while helping establish the relationships and market presence needed to grow the division.

Key Responsibilities

Present flooring underlayment and gym flooring solutions to architects, engineers, designers, contractors, distributors, and OEM customers.

Develop product specifications and track projects from initial design through bidding and product purchase.

Identify and build relationships with flooring contractors, commercial installers, and regional and national distributors.

Support the recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of distribution partners.

Identify OEM opportunities and coordinate product evaluations, technical reviews, sampling, and qualification activities.

Build and maintain a qualified pipeline of projects, prospects, channel partners, and OEM opportunities.

Conduct customer visits, product presentations, demonstrations, and follow-up activities.

Participate in trade shows, industry events, association meetings, and customer training programs.

Gather market intelligence related to competitors, pricing, applications, product requirements, industry trends, and customer needs.

Maintain accurate customer, project, and opportunity information within the company’s CRM system.

Collaborate with sales, marketing, engineering, product management, and operations to support a successful market launch.

Generate product specifications with architects, engineers, designers, consultants, and project owners.

Develop a qualified network of contractors and distribution partners.

Identify and advance OEM specifications and strategic partnership opportunities.

Create measurable market awareness and sales opportunities for the company’s flooring portfolio.

Provide actionable market intelligence that supports product, pricing, channel, and sales strategies.

Convert business development activities into product trials, specifications, partnerships, and revenue opportunities.

One to three years of experience in business development, sales, construction products, flooring, building materials, or a related field.

Recent graduates with strong communication skills and an interest in technical or construction-related sales are encouraged to apply.

Strong interpersonal, presentation, organizational, and relationship-building skills.

Ability to learn and communicate technical product information.

Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable developing new business relationships.

Ability to manage multiple projects and consistently follow through on commitments.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office; CRM experience is beneficial.

Willingness and ability to travel throughout North America as required.

Valid driver’s license.

Experience with flooring systems, acoustic underlayment, resilient flooring, gym flooring, rubber products, or other construction-related materials is beneficial but not required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field preferred.
