We are seeking a Business Development Executive who will play a vital role in maximizing attainment of the company’s new business and revenue goals. This role generates qualified leads for sales partners that result in new customers and revenue for assigned territory.

This is a salaried, non-exempt position with a base range of $85,000 - $95,000 with an OTE of $110,000 - $120,000 annually, in accordance with experience and qualifications. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including health, life and disability benefits, wellness programs, 401(k) plan with company match, flexible PTO and many other perks. Your contributions to Rival will include:

  • Qualifying and generating leads, including marketing driven leads as well as building a pipeline through a variety of methods including cold calling and email campaigns.
  • Utilizing networking and strategic thinking to identify potential customers, research prospective leads, and match products to niche markets.
  • Setting meetings between prospective customers and sales partners.
  • Benchmarking prospect’s current programs to help build business case for Rival products.
  • Quickly learning Rival’s products and demonstrating appropriate level of knowledge of products and business needs to educate prospective clients on value proposition and generate interest.
  • Maintaining accurate prospecting activity and lead qualification information in CRM and providing accurate forecasts and reports including pipeline forecast and territory reports.
  • Building trusting relationships with prospective clients.
  • Meeting or exceeding quarterly quota for qualified sales opportunities and meetings.
  • Collaborating with the sales team, marketing team, solution engineers and various other subject matter experts throughout the sales process.
  • Successfully managing time to ensure profiling, adding, and updating accounts and contacts daily; consistently following up with prospects while still meeting/exceeding targets.

  • Excellent relationship-building skills; effective at engaging prospects, instilling confidence, gaining referrals and valuable information to move a sales cycle forward.
  • Understands ideal customer personas and consistently spots good-fit opportunities.
  • Strong organizational and follow through skills with the ability to prioritize and meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent presentation skills; confident with public speaking.
  • Fast learner with the ability to learn new products and messaging quickly, and pivot when necessary.
  • Assertive and creative, demonstrating intellectual curiosity.
  • Driven and eager to professionally develop and succeed.
  • Proficient with computer software including Salesforce and MS Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years business development or account development in SaaS is required; HR technology experience is strongly preferred.
  • Track record of exceeding sales quotas.
  • Understanding of sales metrics.
  • Demonstrated success cold calling and accessing the C-suite.
  • Experience with CRM software is required; Salesforce.com is strongly preferred.
