Are you an experienced, digitally savvy project manager with an extensive background in working with cross-functional teams?
This is a specialized position working for Pinellas County’s Destination Marketing Organization also known as Visit St. Pete-Clearwater (VisitSPC) and the Convention and Visitors Bureau. This position is responsible for being a key driver in the planning, execution, and successful completion of business development marketing projects and campaigns. Work involves collaborating with various business development departments and the marketing department for the development and implementation of a wide variety of integrated marketing and advertising programs and to ensure projects align with strategic goals and are delivered on time and within budget. The position encompasses marketing strategy, project planning, resource management, and performance tracking to maximize the impact of marketing initiatives. We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Marketing Manager to lead marketing initiatives that drive lead generation, brand growth, customer engagement, and sales opportunities. This role will oversee website management, activation booths, and creative campaigns to enhance market presence and support business development goals.

What Would You Do?
- Collaborate with the sales team to align marketing initiatives with business development goals.
- Liaise between all business development departments, marketing department and agencies to implement and deliver all marketing campaigns.
- Develop detailed project plans including objectives, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, for marketing initiatives and campaigns aimed at promoting the destination.
- Coordinate aspects of marketing campaigns including advertising, content creation, social media, email marketing, and event promotion, ensuring they align with VisitSPC’s goals and target audience.
- Collaborate with various teams such as digital, creative, public relations, and brand engagement to ensure all elements of the marketing campaign work together seamlessly.
- Contribute to the creation of business development related marketing content plans that align with VisitSPC's campaign messaging, including website copy, blog posts, social media content, videos, and visual assets.
- Strategically review business development related landing pages ensuring content is current, accurate, and SEO-optimized.
- Collaborate with website designers and developers to improve user experience and functionality for business development related landing pages.
- Work with cross-functional teams to create business development related promotional materials, including but not limited to ads, social media content, and email campaigns.
- Assist with facilitation of logistics for on-site booths for business development events, trade shows, and exhibitions.
- Utilize project management tools to track progress and communicate with team members.
- Use data analytics tools to track and measure the performance, analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), produce reports and make data-driven recommendations for optimization for all business development marketing initiatives.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences as well as identify new market opportunities for strategic targeting.
- Perform other related job duties as assigned.
What Do You Need To Have?
Education and Experience:
- 4 years of experience in tourism, b2b marketing, business development, or a related field; or
- An Associate’s degree in a related field and 2 years of experience as listed above; or
- A bachelor’s degree marketing, business or a related field as listed above; or
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
- Assignment to work a variety of work schedules including compulsory work periods in special, emergency, and/or disaster situations.
Highly Desirable
- Agency experience preferred.
- Project Management certification (PM).
- Experience working with WordPress, CMS and Google Analytics.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of the hospitality and tourism industries.
- Knowledge of research methods and appropriate means for gathering and reporting information regarding trends impacting development and refinement of marketing and public relations programs.
- Knowledge of a variety of software required for the job.
- Knowledge of brand identity, brand guidelines, and how to ensure brand consistency across various marketing materials and channels.
- Skill in office management, computer literacy, Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, communication, organization, telephone and email etiquette.
- Skill in website management tools (e.g., WordPress, CMS) and analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics).
- Skill in successfully developing and implementing promotions and partnerships.
- Skill in public speaking and ability to communicate complex ideas and plans effectively to various audiences.
- Skill in organizational and project management skills.
- Skill in creative thinking abilities.
- Ability to travel on weekends, locally and out of town for events and activations as required.
- Ability to manage cooperative advertising and promotional partnerships.
- Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with cross-functional teams, agencies, and stakeholders.
- Ability to promote and maintain effective departmental, inter-departmental, and public relations.
