POSITION TITLE: Business Development Manager NAM

LOCATION: East Coast or West Coast is a preference (home based)

REPORTS TO: CRO

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Memnon is the global leader in migrating legacy media content (audio, video, film, data and optical), helping content owners transform their archival content into accessible assets, unlocking new audiences and engagement. We provide broadcasters, production companies and cultural institutions with the technical expertise necessary to preserve, manage, monetize and unlock the full value of their content. Through a combination of industry expertise and technical excellence, we manage our clients’ most significant media assets across the content lifecycle. The ES Media Group is a specialist supplier of end-to-end services for the professional broadcast and production industries, encompassing broadcast equipment sales and rental, broadcast systems integration, production equipment rental and media services. The ES Media Group is the parent company of Memnon.

We’re looking for a proactive and driven Business Development Manager to join our team and take the lead on building a strong, qualified sales pipeline in North America with a special focus on the USA. This role is all about creating opportunities—you'll be responsible for identifying, targeting, and engaging prospective clients, generating leads, and setting the stage for the commercial team to close.

The ideal candidate is assertive, resourceful, and works well independently or as part of a team. You’re not afraid to pick up the phone, knock on doors, and open conversations from scratch. You’ll build your own "hit list" of target accounts, develop outreach strategies, and work closely with the commercial team to ensure a healthy flow of high-quality leads and opportunities.

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for promoting the business and the range of services that it represents on a semi-technical level to the North American market with the support of a global Sales Operations Management team, a local Production and Sales team and the Chief Revenue Officer.

Ideally, you possess unique, specialized industry knowledge and expertise in identifying potential revenue opportunities through networking and assertive field sales techniques.

DUTIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Research and identify new business opportunities in North America with a focus on the USA.
  2. Build and manage a robust pipeline of leads and opportunities, from scratch.
  3. Conduct cold outreach (calls, emails, LinkedIn) to engage with potential clients.
  4. Create and execute targeted outbound campaigns to drive awareness and interest.
  5. Develop your own target account list based on ideal customer profiles and market research.
  6. Re-engage and nurture dormant accounts.
  7. Qualify leads and set up high-value meetings for the Strategic Account Manager and the CRO.
  8. Maintain accurate records of all prospecting activities and pipeline progress in the CRM.
  9. Participate in sales meetings, forecasting efforts.
  10. Produce reports for management.
  11. Achieve a thorough understanding of the company’s products and services to be able to advise customers about them.
  12. Communicate the value proposition.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  1. 3+ years of experience in business development, lead generation, or a similar outbound-focused role.
  2. Proven success in cold calling and building a pipeline from zero.
  3. Strong communication skills and confident, assertive presence.
  4. Ability to work independently and take initiative in identifying and pursuing new opportunities.
  5. Self-motivated, resilient, and results-driven.
  6. Experience in digital preservation of media archives is a plus, but not required.
  7. Strong networking, communication, negotiation, presentation, and proposal development skills.
  8. A good knowledge of a CRM (preferably Microsoft Dynamics) and fluent in all Microsoft Office tools, with a solid grasp of Excel.
  9. Impeccable written and communication skills.
