Job summary

Lathrop GPM LLP is seeking a Manager of Business Development in the Kansas City, MO or Minneapolis, MN area. This role drives the firm’s growth strategy by partnering with practice groups and senior leaders to identify opportunities, develop annual plans, and oversee pitches, proposals, and RFP responses.

The BD Manager will supervise content creation, coordinate with pricing, and lead BD training across the firm while strengthening client relationships and market presence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required, in marketing, communications, or related field.
• 7–10 years of marketing or business development experience, with significant project management experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to leverage messaging for externally facing materials.

Responsibilities

• Oversee strategy and revenue growth initiatives with the CCO and practice groups.
• Lead pitches, proposals, and RFPs for assigned groups, coordinating with pricing.
• Ensure content reflects group experience across distribution channels and guides targets to hire the firm.
• Develop and deliver BD training programs and provide coaching to attorneys.
• Manage relationships with industry groups and support client interview processes.
• Collaborate with Events to plan client seminars and speaking engagements.
