Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Business Development Manager (BDM), Energy Storage will work with Offering, Services, Application Engineering, Parts and Sales teams to develop and drive sales initiatives with our top Strategic Accounts. The BDM will be responsible for identifying opportunities, establishing and maintaining relationships, performing site walks and infrastructure assessments, consulting with customers on battery technologies, quoting, negotiating and closing deals. The BDM will also serve as mentor for the battery sales team and drive select key initiatives as defined by the Director. This role will develop best practices for opportunity identification, quoting, and sales tool effectiveness; and strive to exceed expected sales results.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Evaluate market requirements for all Selling Motions anddevelop sales strategies that align with customer requirements and Vertiv’s capabilities.
  • As a result of evaluation, create roadmap of services pricing, selling strategies, and socialization plans within the sales and service organization.
  • Work with Sales Management to establish annual sales expectations and strive to exceed those expectations.
  • Work with Sales teams to maintain Service Sales Pipeline so that company has visibility to requirements.
  • Network with industry leaders, manufacturers and attend battery trade shows.
  • Mentors less experience team members.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, Business Administration or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • 8+ years business development experience within the industrial battery community.
  • Working knowledge of various battery chemistries and technologies deployed in data center applications.
  • Working knowledge of Vertiv products and services.
  • Strong organizational skills, detailed oriented, and able to manage multiple initiatives.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and capable of resolving contract and product issues.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • UPS operating knowledge.
  • Working knowledge of data center & communication Industries preferred.

PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

  • No special physical requirements.

TIME TRAVEL REQUIRED

  • 50%
