Qualifications

  • Proven experience in new customer acquisition or business development.
  • Experience or knowledge in AI, data technologies, industrial equipment, power/energy, electronics, or manufacturing is a plus.
  • Strong market research and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Ability to participate in evening meetings around 8:00–9:00 PM 1–2 times per week.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct market research to identify attractive industries and business opportunities.
  • Identify and research prospective customers within targeted markets.
  • Proactively identify, approach, and develop new customers.
  • Generate new business opportunities through direct outreach, visits, networking, trade shows, and events.
  • Present manufacturing capabilities, facilities, and services to prospects.
  • Build relationships with OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and key decision-makers.
  • Generate RFQs, prototype opportunities, and mass-production opportunities.
  • Support opportunities from initial contact to first production award.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and other teams.
  • Maintain CRM records, sales pipelines, forecasts, and customer lists.
  • Prepare market research and business activity reports.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Base Salary: $80,000/year


Incentive Bonus: Up to $50,000 based on revenue and profit performance


Travel: Domestic and international travel required

Position Overview

A global electronics manufacturing company is seeking a Business Development Manager to develop new business opportunities in Texas.


This position focuses primarily on market research and proactive new customer development. The Business Development Manager will identify promising markets, research prospective customers, independently approach and develop new accounts, generate RFQs and prototype opportunities, and ultimately secure new mass-production business.


The company is open to candidates from a variety of industries. Experience or knowledge related to AI, data-related technologies, industrial equipment, power/energy, electronics, EMS, or other manufacturing sectors is particularly relevant.


Key Responsibilities


  • Conduct market research to identify attractive industries and business opportunities, including market size, CAGR, growth potential, competitive trends, and relevant economic or political factors.

  • Identify and research prospective customers within targeted markets.

  • Proactively identify, approach, and develop new customers.

  • Generate new business opportunities through direct outreach, customer visits, networking, trade shows, and industry events.

  • Present the company's manufacturing capabilities, facilities, and services to prospective customers.

  • Build relationships with OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and key decision-makers.

  • Generate RFQs, prototype opportunities, and new mass-production business.

  • Support opportunities from initial customer contact through the first production award.

  • Coordinate with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, manufacturing facilities, and other internal teams.

  • Support quotations, proposals, presentations, and commercial negotiations.

  • Maintain CRM records, sales pipelines, forecasts, customer visit reports, and potential customer lists.

  • Prepare market research and business activity reports.

  • Travel domestically and internationally as needed.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in EMS, electronics, contract manufacturing, business development/sales, or a related field preferred.

  • Proven experience in new customer acquisition or new business development strongly preferred.

  • Experience or knowledge related to AI, data-related technologies, industrial equipment, power/energy, electronics, or manufacturing is a plus.

  • Strong market research and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

  • Ability to participate in evening meetings around 8:00–9:00 PM approximately 1–2 times per week.


Training

The selected candidate will receive approximately one week of training at a manufacturing facility in Mexico after joining the company.
