Business Development Manager

Position Summary
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving profitable revenue growth through the acquisition of new electronics manufacturing services (EMS) customers, the expansion of existing accounts, and the development of strategic partnerships. This role serves as the primary commercial interface between customers and the organization, ensuring customer satisfaction, profitable growth, and successful program execution throughout the product lifecycle.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Growth and Pipeline Development
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities aligned with the Company’s strategic growth objectives and target customer profiles.
- Develop and execute growth strategies that meet or exceed annual bookings and revenue targets.
- Expand revenue within existing accounts through cross-selling, upselling, and identification of new program opportunities.
- Maintain an accurate opportunity pipeline and forecast in the Company’s CRM.
Customer Relationship Management
- Build and sustain relationships with decision-makers across engineering, procurement, supply chain, operations, quality, and executive leadership.
- Manage the sales cycle from prospecting through contract negotiation, award, and production launch.
- Deliver voice-of-the-customer feedback to internal stakeholders to inform continuous improvement, capability investment, and strategic planning.
Commercial and Contractual Execution
- Coordinate RFQ, quotation, and proposal activity with engineering, supply chain, finance, and operations to produce competitive, technically sound, and profitable offers.
- Partner with senior leadership on pricing strategy, margin management, and market expansion initiatives.
Program Transition and Market Intelligence
- Collaborate with Program Management and Operations to ensure effective customer onboarding, new product introduction (NPI) launches, and sustained customer satisfaction.
- Monitor customer forecasts, product roadmaps, and demand signals to anticipate future manufacturing volume and capacity requirements.
- Maintain current knowledge of EMS industry trends, global supply chain dynamics, competitive positioning, and emerging technologies.
- Represent the Company at customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of business development, strategic sales, or account management experience in EMS, electronics manufacturing, contract manufacturing, or a comparable manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated record of achieving revenue growth targets and winning complex, multi-year manufacturing programs.
- Experience managing extended sales cycles involving multiple technical and commercial stakeholders.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, and sales forecasting tools.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling into regulated or high-reliability markets such as medical device, aerospace, defense, or industrial controls.
- Working knowledge of printed circuit board assembly (PCBA), box build, system integration, and NPI processes.
The annual salary for this role is expected to be between $100,000 and $200,000 plus commissions depending on a combination of factors, including the candidate’s experience and industry knowledge.
