Business Development Manager – Retail Multi-Site Facility Management

Location: Remote (Mid-Atlantic region preferred)

Industry: Commercial Exterior Building Services

Compensation: Base + commission (OTE $150K)

Our client is a rapidly growing, family-owned exterior building services company with over 60 years of industry experience. They specialize in commercial roofing, siding, gutters, and exterior asset management, partnering with facility managers and property management firms to protect and preserve building exteriors. With a strong focus on customer satisfaction, accountability, and long-term client partnerships, they are expanding their team to meet growing demand in the retail vertical.

Role Overview:

The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for driving new business within the retail multi-site facility management sector. This is a high-impact, strategic sales role focused on acquiring and growing key client relationships across the Mid-Atlantic territory (PA–Richmond).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to meet sales targets in the retail facility space
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with retail brands and facility management firms
  • Conduct market research and maintain awareness of trends, competition, and potential opportunities
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to understand their needs and deliver value-driven solutions
  • Lead all aspects of the sales process including proposal development, contract negotiation, and deal closure
  • Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, operations, project management) to ensure smooth project handoff
  • Attend relevant industry events (ConnexFM, IFMA, RFMA) to build presence and pipeline
  • Maintain accurate records and forecasting within the CRM

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • 5+ years of business development or sales experience in commercial services or facilities management
  • Proven ability to sell into the retail multi-site environment (storefronts, retail strips, chains, etc.)
  • Strong network in property management, facilities, and construction verticals
  • Hunter mentality with demonstrated success acquiring new logos
  • Consultative sales approach with strong negotiation and closing skills
  • Strategic thinker with a focus on long-term client partnerships
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable using CRM systems and sales enablement tools
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
