Beacon Mobility is seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager to expand partnerships with school districts and education organizations nationwide. You will prospect, qualify opportunities, and schedule meetings while building long-term district relationships to drive growth.

The role requires travel across the Central Region, strong outbound and relationship-building skills, and the ability to own the sales cycle from outreach to contract launch.

Qualifications

  • Must reside in or near a major metropolitan area in Missouri, Kansas, Michigan, or Wisconsin.
  • Experience in sales, business development, education, student services, social work, school administration, transportation, or a related field.
  • Previous sales experience or experience working with schools, districts, or education organizations is strongly preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Make outbound calls and send personalized follow-up emails to school districts, charter schools, education organizations, and other qualified prospects.
  • Identify and connect with superintendents, school administrators, transportation directors, procurement teams, student service professionals, social workers, McKinney-Vento liaisons, and other decision-makers.
  • Schedule qualified discovery meetings for the business development team.
  • Research target schools, districts, cooperative organizations, and education agencies throughout the Central Region.
  • Develop a working understanding of student transportation needs related to McKinney-Vento, special education, foster care, alternative education, and other student populations requiring customized transportation.
  • Travel in-market to shadow current Business Development Managers during live prospecting, client meetings, presentations, and industry events, in preparation for territory ownership.
  • Meet established goals for outbound activity, qualified appointments, pipeline development, CRM usage, and training completion.
  • Assume ownership of business development activity, pipeline development, and revenue growth throughout the assigned Central Region.
  • Travel throughout the Central Region each month to meet with prospective clients, current clients, and community partners.
  • Conduct virtual and in-person discovery meetings, presentations, school visits, relationship-building meetings, and follow-up conversations.
  • Build trusted relationships with school administrators, transportation leaders, procurement teams, student service professionals, social workers, McKinney-Vento liaisons, and other decision-makers.
  • Clearly communicate Adroit's service model, capabilities, value, and commitment to safe and reliable student transportation.
  • Manage qualified opportunities through the complete sales process, from initial outreach and discovery through proposal development, negotiation, agreement execution, and client launch.
  • Ask for the business and consistently follow up with prospective clients until each opportunity is won, lost, or otherwise closed.
  • Prepare and coordinate proposals, pricing requests, cooperative agreements, contracts, and RFP responses according to company approval processes.
  • Maintain an active and accurate sales pipeline and provide timely updates, reports, and revenue forecasts to leadership.

Adroit Advanced Technologies, Inc. The Business Development Manager will play a key role in expanding company clientele by creating and implementing an effective sales strategy. In this The Business Development Manager plays a key role in expanding Adroit's presence with school districts, charter schools, and education organizations across the country. In this role, you'll work closely with Adroit leadership and the Operations team to understand each district's transportation needs - from McKinney-Vento and special education routes to hard-to-staff or hard-to-cover routes - and build the relationships that turn into new district partnerships. Your goal: drive sustainable growth for Adroit through new and existing district relationships nationwide, helping more students get safely and reliably to school.

Position Overview Adroit Advanced Technologies provides customized student transportation solutions to school districts, charter schools, and education organizations across the country. We partner with education leaders to address transportation challenges and help ensure students have access to safe, reliable transportation to and from school. The Business Development Manager will help expand Adroit's partnerships by connecting with school and district leaders, identifying their transportation needs, and presenting solutions that support their students and communities. This position begins with a focused ramp period. During this time, the Business Development Manager will concentrate on prospecting, outbound outreach, qualifying opportunities, and scheduling meetings for the business development team. After successfully completing the ramp period, the Business Development Manager will take on full ownership of developing and growing Adroit's Central Region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Make consistent outbound calls and send personalized follow-up emails to school districts, charter schools, education organizations, and other qualified prospects.

  • Learn Adroit's services, value proposition, target customers, sales process, pricing procedures, service capabilities, and client onboarding process.
  • Develop a working understanding of student transportation needs related to McKinney-Vento, special education, foster care, alternative education, and other student populations requiring customized transportation.
  • Travel in-market to shadow current Business Development Managers during live prospecting, client meetings, presentations, and industry events, in preparation for territory ownership.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with Sales, Operations, Customer Care, Finance, and leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple prospects, opportunities, client relationships, deadlines, and follow-up commitments.
  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout the Central Region each month, including occasional overnight travel, evening events, and conferences.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  • CRM experience preferred; HubSpot experience is a plus.
