Job summary

BY Recruiting is partnering with a global, publicly traded industrial manufacturer to hire a Business Development Manager for the US data center market. This remote role reports to a General Manager leading the data center business internationally.

You will build plans to win share with hyperscale and colocation centers, drive early specifications, and own the full sales cycle from opportunity to close while supporting product selection and participating in industry events.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of B2B sales or business development in data center infrastructure
• Track record in project-based and specification sales
• Direct selling experience with hyperscalers or Tier 1 colocation providers

Responsibilities

• Build and carry out a plan to win share with hyperscale and colocation data centers
• Get products specified early by working with engineers and design teams
• Build relationships with data center owners and operators, EPCs, general contractors and electrical contractors
• Own the full sales cycle from opportunity finding to specification, value engineering and close
• Provide technical support on fastening applications and product selection
• Track pipeline and forecast in the CRM (Microsoft Dynamics)
• Represent the brand at industry events such as DCD, 7x24 Exchange and AFCOM

Business Development Manager (Remote, US)

We are partnering with a global, publicly traded industrial manufacturer on a new growth initiative in the data center market. They're hiring a Business Development Manager to get their fastening and structural solutions specified on hyperscale and colocation projects across the US.

This is a remote role open anywhere in the US. You'll report to a General Manager who leads the data center business internationally.

What you'll do

• Build and carry out a plan to win share with hyperscale and colocation data centers
• Get products specified early, during design and design-build, by working with engineers, A&E firms and design teams
• Build relationships with data center owners and operators, EPCs, general contractors and electrical contractors
• Own the full sales cycle, from finding the opportunity through specification, value engineering and close
• Give technical support on fastening applications and product selection
• Track pipeline and forecast in the CRM (Microsoft Dynamics)
• Represent the brand at industry events such as DCD, 7x24 Exchange and AFCOM

What you bring

• 3 to 6 years of B2B sales or business development in data center infrastructure, construction fasteners or structural/mechanical solutions
• A track record in project-based and specification sales (this is the core of the role)
• Direct selling experience with hyperscalers (such as Google, AWS or Meta) or Tier 1 colocation providers
• Able to read design specifications and blueprints
• Strong networking and presentation skills
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business or a related technical field preferred

Compensation and benefits

• Base salary: $110,000 – $130,000, depending on experience
• Sales incentive plan (SIP) bonus
