- Location: Midwest Region (remote with up to 50% travel to clients)
- Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000 base salary
- Commission: 10-15% of margins and expenses, based on achieving 30% gross margins
Job Description
Our client is a global leader in industrial coatings, printing and custom pater-based polymers, recognized for its innovative products and strong market presence. We are now looking to expand our reach into the packaging market by leveraging our in-house intellectual property and adaptable product formulations.
Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Representative to join their team. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in sales, particularly within the packaging and/or corrugated manufacturing industries. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing new business, managing client relationships, and driving commercial activity throughout this space.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales and Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the packaging and corrugated manufacturing markets. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to drive repeat business and referrals.
- Custom Product Development: Collaborate with our lab team to develop custom ink and coating products based on customer requirements. Understand and communicate technical specifications to ensure successful product development and customer satisfaction.
- Market Analysis and Strategy: Conduct market analysis to identify trends and opportunities. Develop competitive pricing strategies and present comparative market analysis (CMA) to clients.
- Brand Awareness: Implement strategies to raise brand awareness in various markets, including tagging labels and graphic arts markets.
- Client Engagement: Conduct property showings, open houses, and private viewings to attract potential buyers. Act as the face of the company, running trials and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Cross-functional Coordination: Work closely with appraisers, lenders, and inspectors to ensure smooth transactions. Manage cross-functional teams to streamline processes and achieve timely deal closures.
Qualifications:
- Industry Experience: Minimum of 4-6 years of high-level sales experience, with at least 1-2 years in the packaging or corrugated manufacturing industry.
- Technical Understanding: Strong understanding of technical requirements for custom product development. Ability to communicate effectively with lab teams and clients.
- Sales Skills: Proven track record of successful sales and business development. Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Travel: Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time to meet with clients and manage sales activities.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Commission: 10-15% of margins and expenses, based on achieving 30% gross margins
- Additional: Travel reimbursement provided for accommodations, gas, and client visits
