Position Title : Business Development Manager

Position Summary :

The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, developing, and expanding business opportunities within the diesel industry. This role focuses on generators, air compressors, and related equipment from leading brands such as Cummins, CAT, Kohler, Generac, and Atlas Copco. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of driving revenue growth, building strong client relationships, and staying ahead of market trends.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Market Development :

Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the diesel power generation and air compressor markets.

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to increase market share and expand the customer base.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning.

Achieve and exceed sales targets through proactive prospecting and customer engagement.

  • Collaborate with the sales team to create tailored proposals and close high-value deals.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients, ensuring alignment with company policies.
  • Client Relationship Management :

Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with new and existing clients.

  • Provide technical guidance and product recommendations to clients, addressing their specific requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Product Knowledge and Expertise :

Maintain a deep understanding of diesel generators, air compressors, and related equipment from brands like Cummins, CAT, Kohler, Generac, Atlas Copco, and others.

  • Stay updated on technological advancements and industry standards.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and training sessions for customers.
  • Collaboration and Reporting :

Work closely with the marketing, engineering, and service teams to deliver a seamless customer experience.

  • Prepare and present regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and business development activities.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management within the diesel or industrial equipment industry.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel generators, air compressors, and associated products.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships while driving revenue growth.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with a results-oriented mindset and the ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
