Summary

The Business Development Executive is a hands-on, individual contributor responsible for generating and qualifying new business opportunities for Pinnacle Group's Managed Services Provider (MSP) solutions. This role focuses on identifying prospective clients, converting cold leads into qualified sales opportunities, and securing high-quality discovery meetings for Directors of Business Development. The ideal candidate understands how to distinguish genuine business opportunities from unqualified prospects and has demonstrated success contributing to sales pipeline growth. Success requires disciplined prospecting, effective lead qualification, consistent follow-up, and measurable performance across lead generation and funnel conversion metrics.

Job Description
  • Outbound Prospecting: Execute targeted outreach campaigns through cold calling, personalized emails, LinkedIn, networking, and other prospecting channels to identify prospective MSP clients.
  • Lead Generation & Qualification: Identify and engage prospective buyers, assess business needs, purchasing authority, organizational fit, and buying timelines, and convert cold leads into qualified sales opportunities.
  • Qualified Meeting Generation: Schedule high-quality discovery meetings for Directors of Business Development, ensuring prospects demonstrate relevant business needs, appropriate decision-making authority, and genuine sales potential.
  • Target Account Research: Research prospective organizations, identify key stakeholders, map buyer personas, and develop account intelligence to support effective prospecting and qualification.
  • Sales Funnel Development: Build and maintain a consistent flow of qualified opportunities, contributing directly to pipeline development and new business acquisition objectives.
  • Lead Nurturing: Establish structured follow-up cadences, maintain relationships with prospective buyers, and advance early-stage opportunities until they are ready for sales engagement.
  • Sales Handoff & Collaboration: Partner with Directors of Business Development to transition qualified opportunities, providing detailed prospect intelligence, discovery notes, business requirements, and recommended next steps.
  • Funnel Conversion & KPI Tracking: Monitor prospecting activity, leads generated, qualification rates, meetings scheduled, meeting quality, and lead-to-opportunity conversion to evaluate performance and improve effectiveness.
  • CRM Management: Maintain accurate records of prospect interactions, qualification criteria, outreach activity, follow-up schedules, and pipeline progression within designated CRM systems.
  • Continuous Improvement: Analyze prospecting results, identify trends in lead quality and conversion, and refine outreach strategies to improve qualified meeting generation and overall sales pipeline performance.
Requirements
  • Experience in sales, business development, or lead generation within an MSP (Managed Services Provider), workforce solutions, or closely related industry, with direct MSP exposure strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success prospecting cold leads, qualifying potential buyers, and converting initial outreach into meaningful sales opportunities.
  • Proven ability to distinguish qualified business opportunities from unqualified meetings based on client needs, decision-making authority, timing, and commercial potential.
  • Experience contributing to sales pipeline development through outbound prospecting, lead nurturing, and qualified meeting generation.
  • Familiarity with sales funnel metrics, including lead qualification rates, meeting conversion, pipeline contribution, and prospecting activity KPIs.
  • Understanding of MSP solutions, contingent workforce programs, and the stakeholders involved in workforce management purchasing decisions.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, prospecting platforms, LinkedIn, and multichannel sales engagement tools.
  • Strong communication, research, organizational, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate with senior sales professionals.
