Job Description

Come join Coverdash’s Commercial Risk Unit! As a Business Development Executive, you’ll help insure small to medium size commercial accounts, quote and rate new business leads, and assist in scaling a team of in-house insurance producers, all while becoming an SMB insurance expert.

We are in a rapid build-out phase and are deploying new software to production daily, so our ideal candidate is someone who can thrive in a fast-paced startup environment. You will work closely with our technical teams, operating as the insurance subject matter expert. You’ll help review processes and systems to build technology that efficiently and effectively meets the needs of the P&C commercial insurance industry in today’s digitized world. You should feel comfortable working autonomously, helping create new processes, and meeting the insurance needs of our customers.

Coverdash is a remote-first workplace with an office location in NYC. We are excited to offer flexibility with this role, which can be based anywhere in the United States. Working hours align with your time zone: 9am-6pm ET for those on the East Coast, or 8am-5pm PT for those on the West Coast.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

  • P&C Commercial insurance sales
  • Independently sell accounts up to $20MM in volume revenue
  • Prepare, market, and quote rates for new business
  • Grow a profitable book of business by following up on leads in a timely manner
  • Perform database file management and input information
  • Build relationship with commercial underwriters

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of commercial insurance experience required
  • Commercial lines P&C insurance license in good standing
  • Experience with managing large volumes of inbound leads
  • Experience navigating multiple insurance carriers for ratings and quotes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer-facing skills, including telephone etiquette and email correspondence
  • Ability to be resourceful, take initiative, and solve problems
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, startup environment and collaborate with other team members
  • Ability to quickly learn and adopt new technology systems and software applications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or related field or equivalent work experience
  • Experience working with CRM/AMS and comparative rating platforms
  • Prior insurtech or startup work experience a plus

The pay range for this role is: $100,000 to $150,000 per year, including on target commission / variable pay.

Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry and are one part of our total compensation package that also includes benefits and other perks.

  • Individual pay decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skill set, location, and business need. The base pay range provided is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
