Job Overview

The Aerospace and Defense (A&D) business unit at TE Connectivity seeks a Business Development Engineer & Systems Architect in the US to support Rugged Fiber Optics (RFO) in North America. This role involves working closely with customers to recommend products and solutions, identify new applications, and support all technical aspects of the sales cycle, from opportunity identification to project execution and technical support.

Responsibilities

1. Market Sensing & Strategy Development (50%)
   • Seek new business opportunities aligned with the RFO product and technology map.
   • Develop a network within customer organizations to foster cooperation and trust.
   • Understand customer strategies, market trends, and competition to drive innovative solutions.
2. Systems / Technical Interaction with Customers (50%)
   • Serve as the technical interface, providing support and advice on all technical topics.
   • Identify current and future customer needs and promote RFO's technical portfolio.
   • Engage early in customers' design cycles for new product planning.
   • Contribute to new product development and provide conceptual design modeling.
   • Generate and present proposals, including product selection and design solutions.
   • Ensure timely delivery of samples, design support, and verification activities.

Qualifications

• 4-year technical or business degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in business, sales, and engineering, with knowledge of Aerospace & Defense market and Fiber Optics products.
• US ITAR clearance required.
• Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
• Result-oriented mindset and personal commitment to growth.
