Business Development Engineer & Solutions Architect - REMOTE Fiber Optics

Position Overview:

The Aerospace and Defense (A&D) business unit at TE Connectivity seeks a Business Development Engineer & Systems Architect in the US to support Rugged Fiber Optics (RFO) in North America. The role involves working closely with customers to recommend products and solutions, identifying new applications, and managing technical aspects of the sales cycle, including demand creation, product specifications, and technical support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Sensing & Strategy Development (50%)
  • Hunt for new business and actively seek sales opportunities aligned with the RFO product and technology map.
  • Develop a network within customer organizations to foster cooperation and trust.
  • Understand customer strategies, market trends, and competition to drive solutions.
  • Systems / Technical Interaction with Customers (50%)
  • Serve as the technical interface, providing support, consulting, and advice.
  • Identify current and future customer needs and promote RFO's technical portfolio.
  • Engage early in customer design cycles for new product planning.
  • Contribute to new product development and provide conceptual design modeling.
  • Present TE proposals and ensure timely delivery of samples and verification activities.

Qualifications:

  • 4-year technical or business degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in business, sales, and engineering; aerospace & defense market knowledge and US ITAR clearance preferred.
  • Fiber Optics product knowledge required.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills; result-oriented.

Additional Details:

  • Location: Berwyn, PA, US (Remote, with 50-75% travel)
  • Salary: $129,600 - $194,400 (dependent on experience and location)
  • Benefits include health insurance, 401(k), disability, life insurance, stock purchase plan, paid time off, voluntary benefits.
