The CSG Business Development Engineer is tasked with design specifications, obtaining certifications, and executing new products. This position also continuously improves existing product designs, design tools, and documentation. This position works closely with the Business Manager and Engineering team to identify and launch new products while ensuring needed compliance and certifications.
Reporting Relationship:
The CSG Business Development Engineer reports to the CSG Business Manager
Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
· Create and execute new Product Development projects to deliver on new business initiatives
· Collaborate with the engineering team and sales to design new electrical product assemblies that meet customer needs and industry standards.
· Prepare detailed technical documentation and specifications for new products.
· Coordinate with testing laboratories to obtain UL (Underwriters Laboratories) listings for new and existing electrical products.
· Subject Matter Expert for UL and ISO Requirements
· Ensure that all new products comply with relevant industry regulations and standards.
· Support client relationships, providing technical support and addressing their needs.
· Assist the Business Manager in developing and implementing sales strategies to promote new products.
· Oversee the development and launch of new products, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
· Engage with new and existing vendors to support product design and management.
· Assist the Business Manager and marketing team in creating promotional materials and campaigns for new products.
· Work with the Sales Teams to monitor the performance of new products in the market and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
· Provide day-to-day technical training to Engineering team members.
· Maintain meticulous records and documentation for all projects.
· Continuously explore new technologies and methodologies to enhance electrical design capabilities.
· When needed, assist business with tasks required to move current projects forward.
· Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Skills/Knowledge
· Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices.
· Proficiency in designing electrical product assemblies.
· Knowledge of UL (Underwriters Laboratories) standards and certification processes.

· Excellent project management skills to oversee product development and launch.
· Ability to prepare detailed technical documentation and specifications.
· Skills in analyzing market trends and identifying opportunities.

· Effective collaboration with engineering, marketing, and sales teams.
· Knowledge of UPS/DC systems and power distribution products, and familiarity with complementary and competitive products

Posting Qualifications:
· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
· Minimum 3-5 years of experience in electrical engineering, product development, or business development
· Experience using SolidWorks and SolidWorks Electrical required
· Understanding of UL & ISO standards and certification processes
