Job Overview

The Aerospace and Defense (A&D) business unit at TE Connectivity has an opportunity for a Business Development Engineer & Systems Architect in Eastern Europe to support Rugged Fiber Optics (RFO) in EMEA. The right candidate will work intimately with customers to recommend products and solutions for new and existing applications. Identifies new applications, requirements, modifications, and enhancements to meet customer specifications. Responsible for all technical aspects of the sales cycle for potential applications of products to meet customer needs, including identifying opportunities; determining solutions; creating demand; preparing detailed product specifications and technical marketing support; ensuring high quality and timely project execution and conducting follow-up technical support.

This is a remote role with possible locations in Poland, Czech Republic, and Romania.

Your Responsibilities

Market Sensing & Strategy Development – 50%
• Hunt for new business and actively seek new sales opportunities by aligning customer needs to grow the sales pipeline in line with the TE product and technology map.
• Develop a network of contacts within the customer organization to enhance cooperation and become a trusted partner.
• Understand the customer's strategy and technology roadmap, the market, the competition, and trends and apply this knowledge to drive and create new solutions.

Systems / Technical Interaction with the Customer – 50%
• Function as the technical interface between the customer and TE providing high-quality customer support, consulting, and advice on all technical-related topics.
• Identify current and future customer needs with RFO application knowledge and find appropriate solutions while promoting TE's technical portfolio.
• Penetrate customers' design cycles to be involved in the early stages of new product/platform planning.
• Contribute to new product development opportunities for TE at the customer with the ability to provide conceptual design modeling.
• Generate, prepare, and present TE Proposals (ex. product selection, design solutions, product specifications, project objectives) to customers working closely with sales and product management.
• Ensure product samples, supporting design, and product verification activities are delivered to customers on time.

What Your Background Should Look Like:

• Technical or business degree required.
• Advanced degree experience preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in a combination of business, sales, and engineering.
• Aerospace & Defense market knowledge preferred.
• Fiber Optics product knowledge required.
• Strong organizational skills and a strong sense of personal commitment to growth/business success.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, ability to simplify complex concepts.
• Result-oriented way of working.
