Job summary

Triax Engineering, LLC is seeking a Business Development Associate to identify opportunities, support proposals, and keep client and opportunity data current. You will build relationships with prospective and existing clients and monitor bid sources to find work matching Triax services.

You will attend pre-bid events, communicate details to teams, and help prepare qualifications packages and presentations. A driver’s license and organization are essential.

Qualifications

  • At least one year of experience in business development, sales, marketing, client relations, proposal coordination, or a related professional-services field.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong note-taking and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace; ability to learn CRM, proposal-tracking, and lead-management tools.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and qualify new opportunities, support proposals and marketing, and keep client and opportunity data organized.
  • Build and maintain relationships with prospective and existing clients through calls, email, networking, and meetings.
  • Monitor bid sources for work that fits Triax's services and attend pre-bid events as needed.
  • Communicate opportunity details to proposal, operations, and technical staff; submit questions through proper channels.
  • Support go/no-go decisions and help prepare qualifications packages, proposals, and presentations.
  • Schedule introductory meetings and coordinate follow-ups; support periodic account reviews.
  • Maintain accurate lead, contact, opportunity, and follow-up records and track proposal activity and feedback.
  • Represent Triax professionally and communicate capabilities accurately.

About Triax

Triax Engineering, LLC provides geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing and special inspections, geotechnical drilling, and Phase I Environmental Site Assessments to public and private clients. What you'll do

As our Business Development Associate, you'll identify and qualify new opportunities, support proposals and marketing, and keep our client and opportunity data organized and current. Day to day,

you will:
  • Build and maintain relationships with prospective and existing clients through calls, email, networking, and in-person meetings.
  • Identify upcoming construction and development opportunities and monitor public and private bid sources for work that fits Triax's services.
  • Attend pre-bid and pre-proposal meetings, site walks, conferences, and industry and association events — independently or with technical staff — capturing scope, schedule, procurement requirements, key contacts, and deadlines.
  • Communicate opportunity details promptly to proposal, operations, and technical staff, and submit questions through the appropriate procurement or client channels.
  • Support go/no-go decisions and help prepare qualifications packages, proposals, presentations, and marketing materials with our technical team.
  • Schedule introductory meetings, coordinate follow-ups, and support periodic account reviews.
  • Maintain accurate lead, contact, opportunity, and follow-up records, and track proposal activity, client feedback, and results.
  • Represent Triax professionally and communicate our capabilities accurately.
What you bring
  • At least one year of experience in business development, sales, marketing, client relations, proposal coordination, or a related professional-services, construction, or engineering field.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, and confidence communicating by phone, email, video, and in person.
  • Strong note-taking and organizational skills, with the ability to identify action items and manage multiple follow-ups and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace, and the ability to learn CRM, proposal-tracking, and lead-management tools.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to attend local meetings, site visits, and industry events.
Preferred
  • Experience in architecture, engineering, construction, commercial real estate, environmental consulting, or another professional-services industry.
  • Familiarity with geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, special inspections, or public infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with CRM systems, bid platforms, public procurement, proposal preparation, or professional networking.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, construction management, engineering, or a related field. Equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
Compensation and benefits

The anticipated salary range for this full-time position is $55,000–$85,000 per year. Starting pay is based on relevant experience, industry knowledge, client-development skills, and other job-related qualifications. Eligible full-time employees also receive health, dental, and vision insurance; paid time off; a 401(k) retirement plan with company match; paid training; and professional-development opportunities.
