Home Instead in Edina, MN is seeking a Business Development Advisor to build relationships with healthcare and senior-care professionals. This field-based role focuses on trust, education, and long-term partnerships rather than pushy selling.
You will visit various organizations, develop referral networks, and tailor solutions to families served. The ideal candidate is outgoing, excels at relationship-building, and is organized about follow-up.
Are you someone who genuinely enjoys meeting people, building relationships, and becoming a trusted resource in your community?
Home Instead is looking for a Business Development Advisor to join our growing team. This is a field-based relationship sales position focused on developing strong, long-term relationships with healthcare and senior-care professionals throughout our community.
This isn't about high-pressure selling or making a quick pitch. It's about relationship sales—earning trust, staying connected, understanding the needs of our referral partners, and demonstrating how Home Instead can help the families and older adults they serve.
As our Business Development Advisor, you'll spend the majority of your time in the field developing relationships with referral partners including:
You'll build these relationships through consistent face-to-face visits, follow-up, education, networking, and—most importantly—being someone our partners know they can count on.
We believe the best referrals aren't simply "generated." They're earned through relationships.
Your goal is to become a trusted partner and resource—not just another person stopping by with a brochure.
You'll take the time to understand each organization's needs, learn what's important to the people you're working with, and identify ways Home Instead can help solve problems for their patients, residents, clients, and families.
When a discharge planner, social worker, nurse, or senior living professional has a family that needs help at home, we want Home Instead to be one of the first organizations they think of.
Visiting an assisted living community to connect with their leadership team. Meeting with social workers at a TCU to discuss how Home Instead can support a safe transition home. Following up with a referral partner who recently sent us a client. Attending a community or healthcare networking event. Dropping in to reconnect with an existing partner you haven't seen recently. Identifying new organizations and professionals we should build relationships with.
You’ll also work closely with our internal team to ensure that the experience we promise our referral partners is the experience their families actually receive.
We're looking for someone who is:
Experience in relationship sales, business development, healthcare, senior living, home care, hospice, home health, medical sales, or community outreach is preferred, but we are equally interested in finding someone with the right personality, drive, and relationship-building ability.
At Home Instead, how we accomplish something matters just as much as what we accomplish.
Our team operates around three core values:
We work together. Business development isn't separate from operations—our entire team succeeds when we deliver an exceptional experience for our clients, families, caregivers, and referral partners.
Challenges are part of healthcare and home care. We look for solutions, opportunities, and ways to make things better.
People may forget what we said or what we did, but they'll remember how we made them feel. That applies to our clients, our caregivers, our teammates, and every referral partner we work with.
Success isn't measured simply by how many buildings you visit.
It's measured by the quality of the relationships you develop, the trust you earn, the consistency of your follow-up, the strength of your referral network, and ultimately the new clients and families who are introduced to Home Instead through those relationships.
If you're energized by being out in the community, meeting people, building relationships, and turning those relationships into meaningful business opportunities, we'd love to meet you.
Join Home Instead and help us build relationships that allow more older adults to receive the care they need in the place they call home.
