Job summary

OTC Industrial Technologies is seeking a Business Development Advisor for the Municipal Field, responsible for managing municipal accounts, coordinating service activities, and supporting growth across the Gallup-Albuquerque NM corridor.

The role requires travel within the region, exceptional communication, and collaboration with sales and operations to deliver timely project updates and recommendations. A degree and relevant experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Business, Engineering Technology, Project Management, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years in customer service or project coordination roles.
• Experience with municipal customers, utilities, or industrial service operations preferred.
• Technical experience with rotating equipment, pumps, motors, controls or mechanical systems desirable.
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel for documentation and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for municipal accounts—service, orders, and project updates.
• Respond to inquiries via phone, email, and in-person meetings promptly.
• Coordinate service activities, repair schedules, and timelines with teams.
• Prepare quotations, proposals, work orders, and purchase orders.
• Monitor progress and provide status updates to customers.
• Review bid documents and contract requirements for municipal projects.
• Assist customers with product selection and replacement options.
• Collaborate with sales and project managers to drive business development.

The primary territory is centered within the Gallup-Albuquerque New Mexico corridor. Candidates should be comfortable with significant travel throughout the region, routinely traveling north, south, east, and west to meet with municipal customers, conduct site visits, attend meetings, support business development efforts, and occasionally participate in hands-on field activities. Travel beyond the assigned territory will also be required to support customer needs and business growth initiatives.

What You'll Do:

• Serve as the primary customer contact for municipal accounts regarding service requests, repairs, equipment orders, and project updates.
• Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and in-person meetings in a timely and professional manner.
• Coordinate service activities, repair schedules, and project timelines with operations and field service teams.
• Prepare and process quotations, proposals, work orders, and purchase orders.
• Monitor project progress and proactively communicate status updates to customers.
• Review bid documents, specifications, and contract requirements for municipal projects.
• Assist customers with product selection, service recommendations, and equipment replacement options.
• Collaborate with sales representatives and project managers to support business development initiatives.
• Maintain accurate customer records, project documentation, and CRM data.
• Ensure compliance with municipal purchasing procedures and contract requirements.
• Participate in customer meetings, site visits, and project review discussions as needed.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment, complying with company and industry safety regulations.

What You'll Need:

• Associate's degree in Business, Engineering Technology, Project Management, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
• 3+ years of customer service, project coordination, inside sales, service administration, or account management experience.
• Experience supporting municipal customers, utilities, water/wastewater facilities, or industrial service operations preferred.
• Technician or Maintenance experience with rotating equipment, pumps, motors, controls, or mechanical systems is highly desirable.
• Basic computer proficiency required, including Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation, data entry, and inspection reporting.
• Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer.
• Ability to occasionally visit customer facilities and job sites.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
