Job summary

Central Bank in Westminster, Colorado, is seeking a Full Time - Regular Banking Associate to deliver exceptional customer service, assist merchants, and promote bank products. The role involves handling inquiries, setting up merchant terminals, cross-selling services, and ensuring compliance with banking regulations.

Typical hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, with an opportunity for growth based on experience.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent. Accounting classes or previous accounting experience beneficial.
• Must have excellent phone skills.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs and have adequate typing skills.
• Attention to detail required.
• Ability to operate various office equipment; email, scan, fax, etc.

Responsibilities

• Answer inquiries from merchants, assess their needs, research problems, and explain procedures and regulations.
• Order equipment and supplies as necessary. Maintain and manage proper inventory supply.
• Ensure merchant services are fully provided and terminals are installed and working properly.
• Program, setup equipment, and train merchants.
• Act as liaison between the company and the merchants; assist with the maintenance of appropriate supplies and advertising materials.
• Assist in keeping the merchant informed of new, revised, or expanded services.
• Process entries and billing updates and prepare adjustment to merchant accounts.
• Entries for General Ledger accounts for charge backs and supplies.
• Acquire and maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of compliance and regulatory issues relating to customer service areas (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, Regulations CC, E, DD, P, etc.) evidenced by appropriate application of these regulations in day-to-day operations.
• Acquire and maintain thorough understanding of security procedures; practice established procedures. Understand role in case of robbery and know proper post-robbery procedures.
• Maintain neat and orderly work area and ensure that all cash, negotiables and confidential records are secured and/or disposed of properly.
• Consistently demonstrate proficiency in providing exemplary customer service in person and by telephone. Actively listen to customers and maintain a friendly, positive and professional attitude.
• Resolve difficult situations with tact and diplomacy. Look for creative ways to make customers feel appreciated and special.
• Acquire and maintain knowledge of all bank products and services.
• Work with manager to set goals and make every effort to reach targeted goals. Make referrals to other business units for traditional and non-traditional banking products and services. Participate in sales programs to generate new customers. Actively participate in STEP program.
• May occasionally work outside the office on an as needed basis.
