SustainableHR Recruiting is partnering with a well-established community bank in the Middleton, WI area to find an experienced Business Banking Officer, VP. This role focuses on building lasting client relationships, growing a commercial portfolio, and delivering customized financial solutions to local businesses.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in business banking or related lending, a track record of expanding commercial loans and deposits, and strong business development and communication

Responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and grow a portfolio of business banking clients, including small to mid-sized companies across industries
• Build strong, long-term relationships with business owners and key decision-makers
• Identify client needs and provide customized banking and lending solutions
• Proactively develop new business opportunities and expand existing client relationships
• Manage and grow a portfolio of commercial loans and deposits
• Serve as the primary point of contact for business clients and provide responsive service
• Monitor credit and portfolio risk while ensuring compliance with policies and regulatory requirements
• Partner with internal credit, cash management, and operations teams to provide comprehensive solutions

This is a great opportunity for an experienced banking professional who enjoys building lasting client relationships, growing a commercial portfolio, and providing customized financial solutions to local businesses.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in business banking or commercial lending, along with a proven ability to develop new business and manage existing client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and grow a portfolio of business banking clients, including small to mid-sized companies across a variety of industries
• Build strong, long-term relationships with business owners and key decision-makers
• Identify client needs and provide customized banking and lending solutions
• Proactively develop new business opportunities and expand existing client relationships
• Manage and grow a portfolio of commercial loans and deposits
• Serve as the primary point of contact for business clients and provide responsive, relationship-focused service
• Monitor credit and portfolio risk while ensuring compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
• Partner with internal credit, cash management, and operations teams to provide comprehensive solutions for clients

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in business banking, commercial lending, credit analysis, or a related financial services role
• Demonstrated experience managing and growing a portfolio of commercial loans and deposits
• Strong business development skills with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding growth and sales goals
• Experience developing relationships with business clients across a variety of industries
• Strong knowledge of business banking products and services, including commercial loans, lines of credit, deposits, and cash management solutions
• Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, accounting, or a related field preferred; equivalent education and relevant experience will also be considered
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills
