Yale New Haven Health is seeking a Unit Secretary to coordinate clerical and receptionist activities on the Patient Care Unit under the direction of the Clinical Coordinator, Nurse Manager and Program Director. The role requires professionalism, strong communication, and a commitment to service excellence.

The incumbent will support various departments, interact with patients and families, and help maintain an efficient and safe unit environment in Greenwich Fertility.

Qualifications

  • English speaking basic clerical, telephone skills and computer/fax experience.
  • Experience with medical terminology.
  • Excellent computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Unit Secretary coordinates clerical and receptionist activities of the Patient Care Unit.

  • 12. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's/area's/ department's policies and procedures
