Job summary

Texas Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Company seeks a skilled program management/IS requirements role within its Underwriting - PMO. You will balance business needs with information systems, define requirements, coordinate testing, and ensure regression readiness.

You’ll work with IS resources and business units to align requirements with design and processes. The position emphasizes managing user validation, documentation, and implementation of policy processing systems and workflow

Qualifications

  • Determine enhancements to the regression test bed for coverage of business functionality.
  • Build relationships with business units to develop a joint vision.
  • Provide technical support and documentation for project development and implementation.
  • Monitor and improve workflow processes and procedures.
  • Assist in training for agents and personnel on new system features.
  • Implement rate, endorsement, or other enhancements required by the Company or regulators.

Job description

Company Name: Texas Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Company | Department: Underwriting - PMO

This position is to maintain a balance between the business and Information Systems (IS) through providing requirements (includes as a primary focus, but not limited to policy processing systems), enable constructive collaboration on requirements and testing processes, provide regression test coordination for validation, provide organization for artifacts, provide organization for test plans and cases, coordinate process focused improvements based on issues detected, interface with IS technical resources at appropriate times in the development life cycle to maintain the integrity of the requirements and system design, ensure the business and IS have an adequate understanding of the requirements and technical design that reduces unexpected downstream issues, and manage user validation and the subsequent implementation of the policy process systems and system and workflow enhancements.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY
  • Complete all training and assignments in a timely and effective manner.
  • Apply departmental standards and procedures to all assignments.

  • Comply with the Certified Fleet Operator requirements of the Company Driving and Safety Policy.
  • Ensure traceability through requirements package, test planning, and validation efforts; and that all issues are tracked, reported on, and resolved as determined by management decision.
  • Enable development of use cases and/or user stories for projects.
  • Coordinate the alignment of business requirements with the system design specifications and the test planning.
  • Determine enhancements to the regression test bed to provide the necessary coverage of business functionality.
  • Build effective relationships with business units to develop a “joint” vision.
  • Provide technical support and documentation in project development and implementation to ensure accurate performance.
  • Monitor, identify, develop, implement, and manage improvements to existing workflow processes and procedures.
  • Assist in the training for agents, agency personnel, and in-house personnel on newly developed system and workflow features.
  • Implement rate, endorsement, contractual, or other enhancements required by the Company or regulatory entities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

At least one of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a computer, technical, or business administration related field from an accredited school with experience demonstrating skills required.
  • Associate’s degree in a computer, technical, or business administration related field from an accredited school with experience demonstrating skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to take on a leadership role through the efficient use of assigned personnel.
  • Demonstrated ability to support and lead multiple projects.
  • Understands how to communicate difficult information effectively.
  • Exhibits creative thinking strategies beyond the boundaries of the existing corporate framework.
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills, and close attention to detail.
  • Ability to facilitate and organize.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Good technical skills, business intelligence, and understanding of the needs of members/customers.
  • Exchanges information with appropriate people to complete work.
  • Displays a willingness to discuss new strategies with management.
  • Can negotiate skillfully in tough situations with both IS and Business, can settle differences with minimum noise; can win concessions without damaging relationships; can be both direct and firm as well as diplomatic; gains trust quickly of other parties.
  • Focuses the efforts of business and IS to work toward solutions that best benefit the needs of the member.
  • Exhibits understanding of all software development methodologies, including agile and waterfall.
  • Strong interpersonal verbal skills, both face-to-face and over the phone.
  • Learns quickly with facing new problems, open to change, analysis of both successes and failures for clues to improvement.
  • Valid Texas driver's license and driving record at the time of hire which would not place the employee on probation, or disqualify the employee from the Certified Fleet Operator Status, under the Company Driving and Safety Policy.
