Job summary

Akaasa Technologies is seeking a Senior Business Analyst 3 to support the Mainframe Reports and Extract efforts for the Railroad Commission of Texas. This 100% remote role focuses on data analysis, reporting, data publishing, and requirements documentation using Power BI and Snowflake.

You will work with business units to design technical solutions, develop UAT, and guide testing and implementation under limited supervision. Strong English communication and oil & gas domain experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Senior-level business analysis experience required (8+).
• Experience gathering requirements and creating reports.
• Facilitating creation and analysis of business requirements with business teams.
• Participating in user acceptance testing, training and related activities.
• Knowledge of Power BI and Snowflake is required.

Job Description:

The Worker will perform advanced (senior-level) business analysis work related to implementing complex, emerging technology hardware and software projects to support the Mainframe Reports and Extract effort at the Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC).

Duties involve use of multiple methods in gathering, developing, and documenting requirements; the review, assessment, and development of business processes; the creation and validation of user acceptance testing; and research and special project support provided to users. This role will work under limited to minimal direction, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

This position will be responsible for analysis and documentation in the implementation of multiple interrelated projects related to reports. The focus of the work is intended to be data-related, including data analysis, root cause analysis of data errors, data flow documentation, report developments, and data posting on the DIR Open Data Portal or on RRC website. Requires knowledge and background in Power BI, Snowflake and data publishing. Ensures that deliverables and materials are produced and maintained in accordance with established processes and procedures, are of consistent quality, and use accepted business analysis methodologies. May assign and/or supervise the work of others. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
