Lead backlog refinement, prioritize features and tech debt, and collaborate with Java engineers on REST APIs, JSON payloads, and OpenAPI documentation during a major migration over 12–24 months.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as Technical Business Analyst, Proxy Product Owner, or Product Owner in complex IT environments.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and create structure without predefined specs.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, OpenAPI/Swagger, Postman, and SQL.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to take ownership of a business-critical enterprise platform handling global insurance claims journeys.

This is a stabilization and management mission on a mature, highly complex ecosystem with intricate business rules, API integrations, and legacy Java components.

With a major technological migration planned over the next 12–24 months, your goal will be to bring structure, reliability, and clear direction to the platform throughout this transition.

Key Responsibilities

Product & Business Analysis
Act as the primary functional bridge between business stakeholders and backend technical delivery teams. Translate complex business rules across diverse product lines into clear user stories and actionable specifications.

Backlog Management
Own, refine, and prioritize the product backlog, balancing new partner feature requests against bug fixes and technical debt.

Technical Investigation & API Scope
Work closely with Java engineers to analyze REST APIs, JSON payloads, and integration flows between microservices and external partner systems. Use Postman and SQL queries to investigate production bugs and trace data flows.

Delivery & Incident Triage
Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, and delivery follow-up. Triage production incidents, distinguish critical blockers from low-priority defects, and track issues end-to-end through deployment.

Candidate Requirements

Experience
5+ years of experience in roles such asTechnical Business Analyst, Proxy Product Owner, or Product Ownerwithin complex, rule-heavy IT environments.

Extreme Autonomy & Ownership
Ability to navigate ambiguity, investigate systems independently, and create structure without waiting for pre-defined specifications.

Technical Literacy
Comfortable discussing system architecture with developers. Strong practical knowledge ofREST APIs, JSON data structures, OpenAPI/Swagger documentation, Postman, and writing intermediateSQL queries.

Tools & Methodologies
Proficient withJira, Confluence, Miro/Excalidraw, and modern productivity tools.

Languages
Business fluency inEnglishis mandatory.French fluencyis a strong plus.

Nice-to-Haves

• Exposure to the Java ecosystem or legacy architectures, such as SOAP web services.
• Domain background in insurance, fintech, travel, or payments.
• Hands-on experience with production support and incident triage.
