Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, or Data Analytics.
• 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Systems Analyst.
• AS400 / IBM-i experience required.
• Experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements.
• Experience generating reports and running queries to analyze data.
• Proficiency in Excel and BI tools like Tableau.
• Experience with system testing and UAT.

Business Analyst

POSITION OBJECTIVE

This position serves as a bridge between business users and IT/programming teams by understanding and evaluating business needs, translating them into clear system requirements, and coordinating system enhancements, reporting, data analysis, and process improvements to support business operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Data Analytics.
• 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or similar role.
• AS400 / IBM-i experience required.
• Knowledge of business applications, databases, and enterprise systems.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and production workflows.
• Experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements.
• Ability to understand business needs and translate them into clear functional requirements for IT/programming teams.
• Experience generating reports and running queries to retrieve, analyze, and validate system data.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting/analytics tools such as Tableau or similar BI tools.
• Experience with system testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively as a bridge between business users and technical/programming teams.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work closely with business users to understand business needs, processes, issues, and system requirements.
• Serve as the primary liaison between business users and IT/programming teams.
• Evaluate business requests and determine system requirements, potential solutions, and impacts.
• Translate business needs into clear requirements and functional specifications for programmers.
• Coordinate with programmers on system enhancements, modifications, integrations, and issue resolution.
• Follow up on system development and enhancements to ensure requirements are understood and addressed.
• Coordinate system testing and UAT with business users and programmers.
• Generate reports and run system queries to analyze business data and support decision-making.
• Analyze sales, production, inventory, customer, and other system data to identify trends, issues, or opportunities for improvement.
• Maintain and improve business processes, system documentation, and reporting requirements.
• Assist with implementation of new systems, system enhancements, and process improvements.
• Provide support and guidance to users regarding system functionality and business processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve system efficiency, data accuracy, and business processes.
• Manage multiple system-related projects and priorities and communicate status, issues, and follow-up items to relevant teams.
• Support special projects and other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS

• This is a hybrid position, with a combination of in-office and remote work based on business needs.
• Occasional travel is required for plant visits, and business events.
• Fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent projects and deadlines.
• Tools/ Equipment/ Software: AS400 / IBM i, Microsoft Office/Excel, Tableau or similar reporting and analytics tools, CRM, ERP, and other company business systems.
• Frequent computer and monitor use to review detailed data, reports, spreadsheets, system screens, and documentation.
