Socket.dev is seeking a Business Analyst to bridge business users and IT teams by translating needs into system requirements and coordinating reporting, data analysis, and process improvements for operations.

The role requires AS400/IBM-i experience, strong Excel and BI tool skills, and experience gathering requirements, documenting specs, and collaborating with stakeholders. You will write clear specifications for programmers and support UAT testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 3–5 years of BA/Systems Analyst experience.
• AS400 / IBM-i experience required.
• Knowledge of business applications, databases, and enterprise systems.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and production workflows.
• Experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements.
• Ability to translate business needs into functional requirements for IT.
• Experience generating reports and running queries to retrieve and analyze data.
• Proficiency in Excel and BI tools such as Tableau.
• Experience with system testing and UAT.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work as a bridge between business users and technical teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

TITLE: Business Analyst

POSITION OBJECTIVE: This position serves as a bridge between business users and IT/programming teams by understanding and evaluating business needs, translating them into clear system requirements, and coordinating system enhancements, reporting, data analysis, and process improvements to support business operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Data Analytics.
• 3–5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or similar role.
• AS400 / IBM-i experience required.
• Knowledge of business applications, databases, and enterprise systems.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and production workflows.
• Experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements.
