Job summary

Palm Tran, Inc. is seeking professional Bus Operators to provide excellent customer service while operating diesel-powered passenger buses on Palm Beach County routes.

You will be responsible for passenger counts, logs, and on-time performance with a focus on safety and communication with riders.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent certification/GED.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A or B with Passenger (P) and endorsement. (Must include a copy of your current Valid Florida Commercial Driver’s license with application.)

Responsibilities

• Operate diesel-powered passenger buses on scheduled routes and special services.
• Maintain accurate passenger counts and logs/records as required.
• Ensure safety of passengers, vehicle, and on-time route completion according to bids and schedules.

Palm Tran, Inc. is seeking professional Bus Operators with excellent customer service and communication skills. This position is responsible for performing skilled work operating all public transit vehicles on all scheduled routes and special services throughout Palm Beach County. Work involves operating diesel powered passenger buses over prescribed routes within set areas and maintaining records and logs, as may be required along with accurate passenger counts. Bus Operators have the responsibility for the safety of their passengers, the vehicle operated, and for completing the assigned route within the prescribed time schedule. Assigned schedules are based on bids and seniority. Employees in this position provide general information to passengers and/or general public, as requested.

Qualifications

PREFERENCES

Experience Driving Transit Buses Or Heavy Equipment Is Preferred.

This is an “essential employee” position required to work during disaster or emergency declarations. This position is an Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) classification.
