Job summary

Dallas Area Rapid Transit Inc (DART) seeks an automotive/diesel maintenance technician for the Fleet Services Division in Dallas, TX. You will repair, inspect, and service fleet vehicles, ensuring safety and reliability.

Requirements include an Associate degree or technical certification in Automotive/Diesel Technology, a CDL Class A with Passenger Endorsement within 180 days, and a clean driving record. You will perform inspections, preventive maintenance, tire changes, and road calls as

Qualifications

Associates degree or technical certification in Automotive/Diesel Technology.
CDL Class A with Passenger Endorsement within 180 days of hire.
Clean driving record with limited DWI/DUI incidents in recent years.
Pass job-specific assessment and DOT medical examination.
Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and work in tight spaces.

Responsibilities

Perform repairs to power plants, air conditioning/heating systems, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and minor body repairs.
Perform state safety inspections of vehicles.
Maintain, charge, and inspect batteries for defects.
Perform preventative maintenance of vehicles as scheduled.
Change tires, fuels, and/or cleans vehicles as required.
Make road/service calls and operate DART vehicles if necessary.
Promote safety, training, and quality assurance programs.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
