Job summary

DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit) seeks a skilled maintenance technician to inspect, repair, and maintain fleet vehicles in the Fleet Services Division. The role includes performing complex repairs to power plants, HVAC, electrical, hydraulic systems, and minor body work, along with batteries and preventative maintenance.

Applicants must have an associate degree or automotive/diesel tech certification, and must obtain a Texas CDL Class A with Passenger Endorsement within 180 days.

Qualifications

Associate degree or automotive/diesel tech certification required.
Must obtain a valid TX CDL Class A with Passenger Endorsement within 180 days of hire.
DOT physical and random drug/alcohol testing as condition of employment.
Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and work in confined spaces.
Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with all levels of staff.

Responsibilities

Perform repairs to power plants, A/C, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and minor body work.
Conduct state safety inspections of vehicles.
Maintain, charge, and inspect batteries for defects.
Perform preventative vehicle maintenance as scheduled.
Change tires, fuels, and clean vehicles as required.
Make road/service calls and operate DART vehicles as needed.
