Job summary

DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit) is seeking a Rail Track Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of rails, embedded tracks, switches and other track components in the Ways, Structures & Amenities Division.

Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing rails and tracks, performing walking track inspections, operating track maintenance equipment, and maintaining logs and work orders while complying with safety standards and

Qualifications

• Associates degree from an accredited college or university or a certification from an accredited technical program in Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education/experience.
• Must pass a technical test.
• Must obtain and maintain certification per state/federal regulations.
• Must have a valid Driver's License and be able to obtain Texas CDL within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair rails, tracks, and related rail services.
• Perform walking track inspections.
• Operate track maintenance equipment and tools.
• Maintain material usage, production logs, and work orders.
• Perform track work tests to meet reliability and safety criteria.
• Maintain communication with Rail Operation Control while on duty.
