Job summary

Dallas Trailer Repair Co. seeks a Diesel Technician to diagnose, repair and maintain trucks and equipment. The role requires solid mechanical knowledge, attention to detail and the ability to work independently or with a team in a shop environment.

You will perform routine maintenance, repairs to industry standards, and document actions in our software system while following safety guidelines and checklists. ASE certifications are preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Experience 12 years of mechanical or equivalent experience.
• ASE certifications highly desired but not required.
• Must pass pre-employment knowledge/skill test, background check, drug/medical exam.
• Must be able to read and write in English for documentation and communication.
• Must have own tools and safety gear; steel-toed shoes and welding protection.
• Possesses a valid driver's license; insurable under company policy.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, analyze and diagnose vehicle engine and related equipment for mechanical issues and faulty parts.
• Perform requested repairs according to industry standards and manufacturer specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance on vehicle and related equipment.
• Have knowledge of heavy truck mechanical systems (eg transmission, electrical).
• Develop and document action plans for all repairs; follow checklists and protocols.
• Use hand tools, power tools and precision measurement tools; calipers.
• Conduct trailer body work and under carriage work (air bag, cross members).
• Analyze and diagnose mechanical issues; follow safety protocols.
• Document cause/complaint/correction in software system.
• Operate mobile repair vehicle or yard switcher as needed.
• Follow health and safety rules; work independently or with team.
