Job summary

Gregory Poole Equipment Company, based in Mebane, NC, seeks a skilled bus maintenance technician to determine status and provide field and shop support for school and activity buses, including preventive maintenance, inspections, recalls, and service bulletins.

Must have at least six years of mechanical experience on buses, a high school diploma or GED, the ability to lift heavy parts, operate service vehicles, and communicate effectively to document repairs.

Qualifications

• Six years of mechanical experience, including school/activity buses.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift heavy parts up to 117 pounds and operate service vehicles.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to work in field locations.
• Strong writing and documentation skills for repair orders.

Responsibilities

• Review work schedule and prepare required parts and PPE.
• Troubleshoot engines, fuel systems, and transmissions using manuals.
• Lift/move parts with hoists and cranes as needed.
• Disassemble and reassemble components and test systems.
• Calibrate/adjust equipment and run diagnostics.
• Perform preventive maintenance and recalls.
